Minutes of July 5, 2012 Meeting
Castillon’s Restaurant
Fort Collins, CO
Jack Edwards, Vice-President, called the meeting to order at approximately 6:25 p.m.
Jack advised that approximately 45 individuals to date have registered to participate in the Moose Run Dual Sport Rally, sponsored by the Front Range Riders. John Rivera said the Rally Volunteer Committee would be meeting on July 12 at President Mike Blank’s office to finalize details of the event.
Jack also reminded members that a dual sport ride would occur on Saturday, July 7. Jim Staedler described the r route of the ride and advised that participants should meet at Ted’s Place, starting at 7:30 a.m. The ride would leave Ted’s Place about 8:00 a.m. The route would be easy dirt roads covering about 240 miles, returning to Ted’s Place about 4:00 p.m. He advised participants should bring rain gear along because possible showers were predicted for Saturday. Jim will provide information about the route ride to Tom Carlsen, who would post the details on the Front Range Riders website, www.frontrangeriders.com.
Jack stated that Dave Driver will provide training for beginner dual sport riders on July 28. So far, 5 riders have signed up for the training.
Deb Nielsen gave an update of the ride to Fort Robinson, Nebraska. The ride is scheduled for August 18-19. Riders will meet at the McDonald’s Restaurant at the College Drive exit on I-25 south of Cheyenne on August 18. Riders will depart from McDonald’s at 9:00 a.m. More information about the ride can be found on the FRR website.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
