Front Range Riders
Minutes of April 5, 2012 Meeting
Fort Collins, CO
Mike Blank, President, called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Mike advised that the first dual sport ride of the season was scheduled for Saturday, April 7 to begin in the Poudre Canyon. Members wishing to participate should meet at Ted’s Place at 10:00a.m. on Saturday. Other pending rides are listed on the FRR website.
Dinner ride volunteers were solicited to lead rides in the upcoming riding season. Mike would like to have a least one dinner ride per month, and more if possible. The volunteer for each ride would be responsible for setting up and leading the ride. A volunteer is necessary for a picnic ride the FRR is proposing. A possible camping trip would also be a good idea. Roxanne Eddins indicated that Beemers & More could provide a shag wagon as was done last year, if the camping trip is planned.
Tom Carlsen provided a presentation on how to access and use the new website that he and Evan from Beemers & More have been developing. The website is still a work in progress, so members accessing the website were requested to give feedback on changes that could improve the use of the website.
Roxanne Eddins described motorcycles slated for introduction, including MotoGuzzi and Aprilia models and Piaggio scooters, that she and Steve previewed at a recent Dealers expo in Miami. Piaggio is the parent company of those and other brands, making it the largest manufacturer of two-wheeled motor powered cycles in the world, even larger than Honda.
Robin Jahnke of Cheyenne gave an oral and video presentation of his 2010 trip to Newfoundland, that was well received by members.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
